Austin Thornton had a career-high 13 points off the bench to help lead Michigan State to a 69-to-47 win last night over Arkansas-Little Rock at the Breslin Center. Keith Appling added 12 points for the Spartans, who improved to 2-and-2.
Also yesterday, Western Michigan fell to Colorado 81-to-76 in the seventh place game of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off tournament. The defeat dropped the Broncos to 0-and-4 on the season.
Coming up this afternoon, it’s #17 Michigan vs. #10 Memphis at the Maui Invitational. The Wolverines are trying to start the season 4-and-0 for the first time in five years.
