DOOR COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) - All the lights are back in Door County, where more than 12-thousand electric customers were without power due to Thursday’s high winds.
Wisconsin Public Service crews finished their work Monday afternoon.
The state DNR says its major cleanup is continuing in five state parks and a state trail – and those places remain closed at least until this weekend.
Crews from throughout Wisconsin have been helping local workers clear trees, fix shower buildings, and repair other structures.
State park director Dan Schuller said significant progress was made during the weekend in clearing roads and discovering hazards at the various state park campgrounds. But he said power lines are still down in a number of spots in the parks – and not toilets and other basic facilities are functional.
The parks affected are Peninsula, Potawatomi, Newport, Whitefish Dunes, and Rock Island.
Also, the Ahnapee State Trail remains closed. The golf course at Peninsula did re-open during the weekend.
