Lady Gaga's little monsters are in for a great surprise because the singer is set to perform in Times Square on Dick Clark's New Year's Rocking Eve with Ryan Seacrest. It's certainly been quite the successful year for the pop queen and given her great love for New York City, it's no wonder she accepted -- we're happy to have her. Seacrest announced the news today that the Born This Way star would be performing just minutes before the infamous ball drop ceremony, and knowing Gaga, it's sure to be a phenomenal (yet wacky) experience. So even if you're like me and prefer to watch the ball drop in the comfort of your own home instead of being pressed up against some strangers, it will still be an enjoyable performance that can be appreciated in person or via satellite. Gaga is just that good.

Now the real question is -- will she appear as Lady Gaga or will she have the world once again see Jo Calderone -- her male alter ego who graced the stage of the VMAs and drew quite a reaction from fellow artists and fans. The beauty is, you never quite know with Gaga, but either way it's sure to be an unforgettable last night of the year.
