LANSING (WKZO) -- Although the feds have mandated that incandescent light bulbs be phased out by the end of next year, one Michigan lawmaker has a bright idea, manufacture and sell them in Michigan, instead. Representative Tom McMillin of Rochester Hills introduced a bill to allow a Michigan based company to produce the bulbs for sale only in the state of Michigan.
The bill passed Tuesday morning on a straight party line vote with Republicans in full support, and Democrats opposing. The bill now makes its way to the full house for consideration.
