There’s Hack-a-Shaq and the Wizards figured they would try some of the same against the Pistons last night at the Palace. You might call it Take-a-Wack-at-Wallace but it didn’t work. Ben Wallace came into last night’s game hitting just 26% of his free throws this season for Detroit and had missed his first four from the line last night.
The Wizards had cut a 20-point Piston’s fourth quarter lead down to eight points and decided it was time to send Big Ben to the line.
However, that plan backfired as Wallace hit 5-of-6 free throws over a 16-second span and Detroit was on its way to a third straight win and their fifth victory in six games. Greg Monroe led the Pistons with 18 points. Tonight, it’s Detroit at Atlanta.
