The Red Wings tonight are facing their earliest elimination from the playoffs since 2006 when they take on the Predators in Nashville. Detroit trails 3-games-to-1 in the best of 7 first round Stanley Cup series.

The Red Wings might be able to draw some strength from last year’s post season when they trailed San Jose 3-games-to-0 in the Western Conference semi-finals and came back to win three straight and forced a Game 7, which Detroit ended up losing 3-to-2.

If the Red Wings can survive tonight, Game Six will be Sunday afternoon in Detroit.
