DETROIT (WKZO) -- General Motors' CEO Don Akerson is getting a pay raise following record sales at the automaker.
Akerson will earn total compensation of 7.7-million dollars for 2011. That's up about five-million dollars from the year before. Akerson took over GM's top job about two years ago. He has guided the once bankrupt car-maker to record profits.
General Motors reported a profit of over nine-billion dollars last year. GM also reclaimed its global sales crown, selling over nine-million vehicles worldwide.
