LANSING (WTVB) - It’s a decision that local governments all over the state had been waiting for: would judges uphold the city of Wyoming’s ban on Medical Marijuana despite a voter approved constitutional amendment making it legal? The Michigan Court of Appeals not only ruled that the Wyoming ban was contrary to Michigan law but they did it unanimously.
John Ter Beek, a retired lawyer who needs treatment for chronic pain, filed the legal challenge and won. Wyoming Mayor Jack Poll says it certainly clarified the situation. The city could appeal to the state Supreme Court.
