COLDWATER (WTVB) - It’s one day and counting until Primary Election Day 2012. Some of the Republican races in Branch County tomorrow will basically decide the outcome for the November general election with no Democratic opposition Tuesday for a number of offices. And in addition to several township fire protection levies, voters in the Coldwater, Quincy, and Bronson school districts will decide the fate of a Branch Intermediate School District Special Education millage proposal.
Among the contested county wide races in Branch County are sheriff, where Republicans John Pollack, Mike Gatke, and Harold Sneath are looking to replace the retiring Warren Canon. Johnny Lopez is the lone Democrat on the ballot. In the Probate Court judge race, Chuck Lillis, Terri Norris, and Kirk Kashian are squaring off. The field will be reduced to two candidates for the November general election. Ann Vrablic and Jennifer Whitney are vying for the county Treasurer position. There are also several other contested county commissioners races.
