ANGOLA, INDIANA (WTVB) - An inmate death at the Steuben County, Indiana jail is under investigation. Shortly after midnight Sunday morning, jail officers discovered 23-year old Cody Mosley of Kendallville unresponsive when doing routine checks of the inmates. Mosley was not breathing and staff began CPR. Mosley was taken to Cameron hospital in Angola where he was pronounced dead. Mosley had been arrested around 1:00 p.m. Saturday by the Angola Police and charged with Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash, Operating While Intoxicated by Drugs, and Driving While Suspended. Mosley was taken to Cameron for clearance prior to being jailed because of the charge of driving under the influence of drugs which is a standard procedure associated with that charge. An autopsy was conducted yesterday. Authorities say the results were inconclusive with no signs of foul play involved. Toxicology results are pending.
