KALAMAZOO (WTVB) - The Romney campaign appears to be giving potential running mates a road test as part of their vetting process. Yesterday they sent Ohio Senator Rob Portman to Colorado and former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty to Lansing and Kalamazoo to see how they perform. Palenty spent most of his time deflecting the VP question and focused on bashing the Obama administration on the economy.
Michigan Democrats held a conference call charging that Romney’s plan is to give the rich bigger tax breaks by cutting tax breaks for the middle class. State Representative Sean McCann and former Congressman. Mark Schauer say Pawlenty shouldn’t come to their state and not expect to be challenged.
