LANSING (WTVB) - State Lawmakers say they plan to take a second look at the state’s new fireworks law after its introduction this year sparked a lot of controversy. There was an explosion of complaints that they were being ignited at all times of the day and night, and not just on the holidays. The timing was also bad this year because of the drought and the fact that fireworks are blamed for a number of fires, including one that destroyed a church in Kent County.
The original authors of the law say will lead a work group to look at the impact of the new laws and needed remedies.
