COLDWATER (WTVB) - Crews from the City of Coldwater are getting ready to take their turn to add to the collection of orange barrels drivers are dodging as summer street repaving projects continue. First on the schedule is actually something walkers and joggers should take note of. The walking trails around Heritage Park will be seal coated. Tuesday the Roosevelt parking lot will be seal coated and restriped. Then later this month, work will start on South Sprague Street from Sauk River to Garfield; Smith Street from North Michigan to Wright; and Riverside Drive from Race to Jay. A single layer of stone chip will be laid on August 21st and a week later, on Tuesday, August 28th, chip lock sealer will be applied. The City of Coldwater asks that residents avoid the areas, if possible and apologizes for any inconvenience that may be caused.
The Michigan Department of Transportation has moved into the city limits on its Business Loop 69/Division Street reconstruction. Crews on Friday began grinding up the old asphalt from US-12 to the curve near Clay Street. Traffic is being reduced to one lane in each direction.
