The Tigers committed 3 errors and threw 3 wild pitches in what Detroit manager Jim Leyland called an “ugly, really ugly” loss yesterday at Texas with the Rangers taking the rubber game of the 3 game series by a score of 8-to-3. Rick Porcello fell to 9-and-7, allowing six runs in six innings. Miguel Cabrera had 2 of the Tiger’s six hits, including a 2-run double. Omar Infante also had a pair of hits with a double and an rbi.
The next one for the Tigers is a game tonight at Minnesota in the opener of a 3-game series with the Twins. Detroit is now 2 games behind the Central Division leading White Sox, who beat Oakland yesterday 7-to-3. And the Cubs were blanked by the Reds 3-to-0 yesterday at Wrigley Field.
