COLDWATER (WTVB) - The Coldwater City Council last night approved City Engineer Charlie Buschard’s revised recommendations for this year's sidewalk program, focusing on fewer new sidewalks and more repair projects. In fact, the only new sidewalk to be built will be on Branch Ave., with the balance of the money to be spent on rehabilitating and repairing existing sidewalks. Buschard said his staff has been trying to insure the city has at least continuous sidewalk on one side of the street.
State Representative Ken Kurtz addressed the Council last night and gave his spin on the slow but steady economic recovery. Kurtz said while we’re not so much seeing people spend their money as a way to turn things around like we have in past recessions, on the other hand, they are doing something positive and that’s paying down their debt to reduce such liabilities in the future.
