COLDWATER (WTVB) - Two days of summer sealcoat maintenance work is happening this week in Branch County today and tomorrow, weather permitting, and that means $14,000 a mile being spent with the goal of extending the life and quality of roads around the county. Branch County Road Commission Manager Trent Arver says costs are up six percent this year, which is about the average increase over the last couple of years. Townships pick up the tab for the cost of the sealcoat materials. Higher fuel prices are also responsible for the maintenance bill going up by 800 dollars a mile. By the way, road commission crews today are scheduled to be working on Tobolski,Bell, and Brauker roads.
