COLDWATER (WTVB) - Fund raising is hard enough in these times and United Way of BranchCountyis facing a dilemma nearly 3 weeks before its annual campaign drive even gets started. The Eastern Upper Peninsulachapter of United Wayunintentionally sent a mass mailing to businesses and individuals in Coldwater and Bronson soliciting funds for U-P United Way. Each United Way operates independently in their own community. Branch County United Way does not hire mailing companies to conduct mass mail solicitations. Anyone in BranchCountywho might answer the United Wayrequest sent by the Eastern U-P agency will see the local United Waylose out on that gift, which will go to the U-P instead. The Branch County United Wayannual fundraiser kicks off next month on September 11^th. The local agency says it regrets the confusion being caused by this erroneous mailing from another U-W organization and asksBranchCounty residents to please save their funds for the drive here drive here to make a difference in our community.
