Lion’s coach Jim Schwartz said Monday that it appears the knee surgery on starting safety Louis Delmas two weeks ago will keep him out of the lineup at least through the rest of the preseason. There were hopes Delmas would be ready to play pain free by the time the regular season opener rolled around but that’s looking less likely now. Schwartz said Delmas’ status is still week-to-week, rather than day-to-day. Stepping in to fill his shoes for now veterans John Wendling and Erik Coleman.
