DEARBORN, MI (WKZO) - Ford is issuing a recall because some 2013 Escape SUVs and Fusion sedans have been spontaneously bursting into flames. Apparently vehicles equipped with the 1.6 liter engine have been overheating and that has led to fires in the engine compartment. No injuries have been reported so far. Ford wants owners of the affected vehicles to get in contact with their dealer, who will provide a free loaner car at no cost until the car or truck is repaired. Owners can visit the Ford website and input their VIN number for a quick check on whether they are part of the recall.
