UNDATED (WKZO) - November was a good month for car sales, partly because Hurricane Sandy made it such a truly terrible month for the north east. Some 200-thousand cars were destroyed by the storm and many people were trying to replace them. Chrysler was up 14%, Ford up 6% and GM up 3%.
Chrysler’s sales chief Reid Bigland says it was their best numbers in 4 years. He says the aging American fleet and improved gas millage are also pulling in the new customers. Good news for the auto industry is usually good news for Michigan.
