Michigan senior safety Jordan Kovacs, a former walk-on who was elected co-captain for this season, was voted by his teammates as the Wolverines’ Most Valuable Player and presented with the Bo Schembechler award last night at the annual U-of-M bust inLivonia.
And Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein and Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o have been named the 2012 Heisman Trophy finalists. Manziel is the favorite to become the first freshman to win the Heisman.
Te'o is trying to become just the second defensive player ever to win the award.Michigan's Charles Woodson won the Heisman in 1997. The 78th Heisman Trophy presentation is Saturday.
