WASHINGTON D.C. (WKZO) -- West Michigan Congressman Justin Amash is slamming the Republican Leadership in the house for stripping him of his seat on the House Budget Committee. He says he found out about it by reading the paper.
Some said it was a question of party unity and because Amash voted against Paul Ryan’s budget. Amash thinks it was also because he backs cuts to the Pentagon budget.
Amash called it a slap in the face to the Libertarian wing of the Republican Party, which he says is its fastest growing segment.
Beginning in January, Amash will add Battle Creek to his district, which now includes parts of Kent and Barry Counties.
