Rick Snyder said he was One Tough Nerd before he was elected Governor.

He will need to be One Tough Nerd and more now if he wants Right to Work legislation to pass. Snyder, flanked by the leaders of both the state House and Senate, announced this morning that he’s endorsing the “Workplace Fairness and Equity Act,” better known as right-to-work legislation.

Michigan’s strong militant union background has worked against it in competing for business, and this legislation could help counter that.  Although he had been hesitant to tackle this issue during his first two years in office, the Governor admitted that he couldn’t avoid it anymore.

Lawmakers have two weeks to get the Workplace Fairness and Equity Act passed before the current session adjourns.
