The Golden Girls icon was the guest of honour at Universal Studios, where she was named the Who-Manitarian of the Year, a nod to Dr. Seuss' festive story How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

She was handed the accolade by a cast of characters from the film adaptation of the book at the opening of the park's Grinchmas attraction.

Speaking as she received the honour, White said, ""I really appreciate this award, and I appreciate all of you beautiful people around me.""

White has long supported animal causes, and in October (12) she was honoured with the National Humanitarian Medal and Legacy Award at the American Humane Association's second annual Hero Dog Awards.
