LANSING (WKZO) -- Governor Snyder says legislation he has signed will give law enforcement officials the tools they need to put a stop to animal fighting. The measures will allow for the seizure of homes, automobiles and personal property in cases involving animal fighting, adds animal fighting to the list of racketeering crimes and gives authorities the ability to shut down venues associated with animal fighting.
Other bills signed by the governor will give immunity to doctors who report patients with physical or mental disabilities who make driving unsafe to the Secretary of State, allow employers to charge workers a fee to withhold child support from their wages and adjusts the Freedom to Work Medicaid eligibility level to allow people with disabilities to increase their income without losing Medicare coverage.
