LANSING, MI (WTVB) - Michigan lawmakers met until 4:30 am Friday, trying to finish up legislation that either had to pass by for the end of this session or die. Democratic State House Representative Sean McCann says the Republican Majority waited for lame duck session for many of these bills, like regulations on abortion clinics, Right to Work and eliminating the Personal Property Tax because if they had pressed these bills before the election, more of them would not have gotten reelected. According to McCann, If they waited until after lame duck, the votes may not have been there to pass them.
