Will Branch County and Southwest Michigan have a White Christmas? The National Weather Service says a strong winter storm system will develop in the Southern Plains near midweek and lift into the Great Lakes with heavy snow expected along the low pressure center which is forecast to track right through Southern Lower Michigan. However, even small changes in the track of the system will significantly affect the type of precipitation and snowfall accumulation. We have seen a few flakes fall this month, but nothing that really stuck. For those who don’t mind dry roadways and warm hands, it’s been good times. For anyone whose business depends on snow, it’s not so good. Ski Hills, snow plow operators, tire stores and teens who shovel snow are probably all wondering if they are in the wrong business.
