Michigan has moved up from third to second place this week in both the Associated Press and Coach’s polls with the 11-and-0 Wolverines now only trailing number-one Duke in the rankings.
The Blue Devils replaced Indiana after the Hoosiers were upset in overtime Saturday by Butler. Michigan’s next game is against Eastern Michigan on Thursday at Crisler Center.
Michigan State, which is 19th in the Coach’s poll and 20th in the A-P rankings, plays tonight at Bowling Green. And Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim is the newest member of the 900-win club.
The third-ranked Orange defeated Detroit Mercy 72-to-68 at the Carrier Dome last night to make Boeheim just the third Division-One men's coach to reach the plateau. Duke's Mike Krzyzewski and former coach Bob Knight are also members of the club.
