UNDATED (WTVB) - A new nationwide survey says almost 40 percent of workers are taking Christmas Eve off even if their workplace is open. The survey also shows 28 percent are taking New Years Day off.
The Workforce Institute polled just over 26-hundred people. Institute director Joyce Maroney says it's possible more employers are encouraging workers to use paid leave. In contrast, the 2007 survey showed just 15 percent of workers took both holidays off.
