LANSING, MI (WTVB) How conservative is the voting record of Branch County’s representative in the Michigan House? Republican Ken Kurtz of Coldwater is one of 39 State House members who cast a conservative vote on at least three-quarters of the 41 bills included in the study conducted by the MIRS news agency.

Kurtz was one in the group of 11 representatives who cast a conservative vote 76% of the time. The research was tabulated through a tool on the website michiganvotes.org. For the second straight year, term-limited Republican lawmaker Dave Agema of Grandville scored the most conservative at 98% while Democratic Representative John Olumba of Detroit notched the most liberal record with a final ranking of ten percent. For Agema, it marks the third time in four years he’s recorded the House’s most conservative voting record.
