COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - School was closed for several districts on Friday, but not because of the weather. School officials in Coldwater and Quincy, along with Pansophia Academy, Tekonsha and St Charles Borromeo Elementary called off school, anticipating a large number of absences from kids on edge on the one week anniversary of the mass shootings at a Connecticut elementary.
Schools in the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek area were also closed on Friday.
Classes will resume in Coldwater on Monday, January 7th.
