Michigan coach Brady Hoke has named punter Matt Wile the starter against South Carolina for the January First Outback Bowl. While takes over after regular starter Will Hagerup was suspended due to a violation of team rules. Hagerup, who was the Big Ten punter of the year this season, is no stranger to trouble. He was suspended the first four games of 2011 for violating team rules, and missed the 2010 Ohio State game for the same reason.

In Thursday’s bowl games, #24 San Jose State beat Bowling Green 9-to-20 in the Military Bowl, Cincinnati defeated Duke 48-to-34 in the Belk Bowl and it was Baylor beating number-17 UCLA 49-to-26 in the Holiday Bowl.

Today, it is Ohio vs. Louisiana-Monroe at the Independence Bowl followed by Virginia Tech against Rutgers in the Russell Athletic Bowl and then Minnesota plays Texas Tech in the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas
