Pistons play the Heat tonight at the Palace but at least Detroit will be able face the defending world champions without Miami guard Duane Wade in the lineup. Wade will miss the contest while serving a one game suspension for his seemingly intentional kick to the groin of a Bobcat’s player in Wednesday night’s game at Charlotte.
Wade was not charged with a foul on the play, and the Heat went on to beat the Bobcats. 20-and-6 Miami is on a six game winning streak and has won seven straight at the Place.
The Pistons are 9-and-22 although they are only being outscored by 2.2 points a game. Detroit Guard Rodney Stuckey is listed as questionable for tonight with a left ankle sprain.
Calvin Johnson Better, Pettigrew and Delmas Questionable
Lions All-Pro receiver Calvin Johnson returned to practice yesterday after resting a sore knee on Wednesday. Meanwhile, safety Louis Delmas and tight end Brandon Pettigrew are listed as questionable after missing Thursday’s session in Allen Park. Delmas is nursing a sore knee, while Pettigrew suffered an ankle injury in a loss to the Packers on December 9th. The 4-and-11 Lions will play host to the Bears at Ford Field as Detroit looks to snap a 7-game losing streak in their season finale on Sunday afternoon. Don’t look for the Lions to slack off this weekend but a victory over the Bears could drop Detroit down to ninth place in the 2013 draft while a loss could move them up to as high as third place.
