ST. JOSEPH (WKZO) -- An Indiana woman is out of the Berrien County Jail after spending ten days locked up on a contempt of court charge.
LaRue Ford is accused of swearing under her breath as she left the Berrien County District Court clerk's office in early December in Niles after struggling to get an eight-year-old traffic ticket cleared up. ACLU attorney Miriam Auckerman says there's no reason Ford should have been jailed, adding she was voicing the same frustration many others would given the situation.
Ford is due back in court on January 8th and posted bond after a judge reduced it from five-thousand to 500-dollars on Friday.
