COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - In Branch County high school sports last night, in boy’s basketball, in a game you heard here on AM 1590 and the new FM 95.5 WTVB, Quincy fell in a see-saw game at home with visiting Homer holding off the Orioles 49-to-48.

Homer led at the half 25-to-23 before Quincy squeezed ahead 37-to-36 heading into the final quarter. The Oriole’s last lead at 45-to-44 with about a minute and a half remaining was erased when the Trojans made a steal and converted with a layup.

Homer then made some clutch free throws to secure the victory. Alex Ditton, who had a game-high 22 points for Quincy, connected on a triple right before the buzzer to make it a one point game at the end.  Ditton was our McDonald’s Player of the Game for Quincy. The loss drops Quincy’s record to 8-and-6 overall and 4-and-5 in the Big Eight Conference.

It was Athletic Hall of Fame night at Quincy and again congratulations to members of the 2012 induction class, Chris Christian, Corey Luce, and wrestling coach Ken Downey.
