DETROIT, MI (WTVB) - Trial is set to begin today in federal court in Detroit for seven members of the Hutaree militia. The six men and one woman were arrested in Lenawee County in 2010 after they allegedly planned to murder a police officer then kill other members of law enforcement at the officer's funeral.
An eighth co-defendant pleaded guilty in December to firearms charges and faces a five year prison sentence.
