Tiger’s pitchers and catchers officially checked in for the start of spring training workouts Monday in Lakeland,Florida. Although position players won't report until the end of the week, newly acquired first baseman Prince Fielder and fellow slugger Miguel Cabrera, who will move from first to third, have already checked in.
Fielder’s early arrival yesterday saw the former Milwaukee Brewer take time to sign dozens of autographs following a session of batting practice. Detroit will begin exhibition play on March 2nd against Florida Southern College. Opening Day is on April 5th against the Boston Red Sox at Comerica Park.
