UNDATED (WKZO) – An image depicting a ‘giant storm’ off the coast of South Africa has recently been released by NASA taken on Dec. 26, 2011 by a NASA Terra Satellite.

The huge swirl shown in the picture above is estimated to stretch almost 100 miles across and reaches the bottom of the South Atlantic Ocean’s depths kicking up nutrients to the ocean surface.

NASA scientists say the storm is not dangerous, not even for the fish who may find themselves part of the swirl’s counter-clockwise rotation.  

The storm known as an ‘Agulhas eddy’ also called a ‘current ring’ poses no threat for South African shores, but produces a bizarre phenomenon of blue-hue color.
