VIDEO: Herman Cain in Kalamazoo: ‘The President isn't a socialist, he’s worse’

KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Former Republican U.S. Representative Pete Hoekstra, current GOP candidate for U.S. Senate, embarked on a four city tour across the state of Michigan Thursday and by his side was a man with a familiar name. Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has joined up with the Hoekstra campaign to become a certified “Patriot for Pete”.

The dynamic duo kicked off their tour in Grand Rapids and is set to make their last stop in Troy. WKZO carried a live stream of the tour’s second stop in Kalamazoo at the downtown Radisson Plaza Hotel. To watch the event in its entirety click here.

The intent of the Hoekstra/Cain matchup seemed to largely be aimed toward familiarizing voters with the economic side of politics. Cain, of course, is no stranger to economic rhetoric touting his 9-9-9 tax plan throughout his presidential run in the GOP primaries. Hoekstra has greatly supported Cain’s plan for some time, publicly pledging on Monday his commitment to seeing it implemented.

The pair focused today’s message around bringing Michigan through economic tough times by adopting the 9-9-9 plan as well as beating out Debbie Stabenow for U.S. Senate.   Cain remarked, “We have got to get this national economy going so we can unleash more potential for the people in Michigan.”

Watch above interviews from Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain, and U.S. Senate candidate Pete Hoekstra.
