TAMPA BAY (WKZO) -- The Michigan State Spartans take on the Georgia Bulldogs in a re-match of the 2009 Capital One Bowl.  The Spartans enter the game 10-3 looking to avoid a 2-game losing streak to end the 2011 season.

1st Quarter:

Michigan State stopped Georgia on their opening drive by holding them on a 3rd down and short forcing a punt to the Michigan State 1-yard-line.  The Spartans responded by throwing an out-pass in the end zone that was stopped behind the goal line for a safety.

Michigan State came up with a big-time stop inside the Spartans 10-yard-line on 4th-down and 1 to give them the ball back.  Georgia had been moving on the strength of a pass-interference penalty and a strong running game.

2nd Quarter:

Michigan State and Georgia continue to trade field position but neither team has been able to score.  The Spartans still trail 2-0.

On the 1st play of their possession Georgia Quarterback Aaron Murray hit Tavarres King for an 80-yard-touchdown reception.  Georgia leads Michigan State 9-0.

Georgia is pulling away from Michigan State following a 92-yard punt return for a touchdown.  The return gives the Bulldogs a 16-0 lead over the Spartans.

HALFTIME

3rd Quarter:

Michigan State scores on an 8-yard-touchdown run by Le'Veon Bell.  Spartans cut the Bulldogs lead to 16-8 with 2-point-conversion.

Michigan State Darqueze Dennard intercepts Aaron Murray and returns it for a touchdown.  The Spartans fail on the 2-point-conversion to bring themselves within 16-14 in the 3rd quarter.

4th Quarter:

Georgia kicks a 32-yard-field goal to give the Bulldogs a 19-14 lead over the Michigan State Spartans in the 4th quarter.  The field goal was a win for the Michigan State defense after Kirk Cousins threw an interception to bring the Bulldogs into the red zone.

Following a long gain on a screen pass the Spartans found Keith Nichol on 3rd down and 7 from the 7-yard-line to take their first lead of the day.  Michigan State leads Georgia 20-19.

Georgia drove right down the field and scored on a 13-yard-pass from Aaron Murray to Brandon Boykin.  The Boykin touchdown was followed by a  2-point-conversion to give the Bulldogs a 27-20 lead late in the 4th quarter.

Le'Veon Bell ties it 27-27 with a 1-yard-touchdown run.  It took the Spartans several plays to get into the end zone after a 1st down by Keyshawn Martin where his knee went down at the 1-yard-line.

Overtime:

47-yard field-goal is good by Blair Walsh of Georgia.  Georgia leads 30-27.

Michigan State follows with a Dan Conroy field-goal to tie the game at 30-30.

Spartans Conroy hits field goal to give Spartans 33-30 lead.
