The Tigers have avoided arbitration by signing pitchers Rick Porcello and Phil Coke to one-year contracts. In 31 starts last season, Porcello went 14-and-9 and set career highs in strikeouts and innings pitched. His deal is worth 3.1 million dollars.
Coke gets 1.1 million. He had a 3-and-9 record after moving from the starting rotation to the bullpen.
