Legendary Penn State coach Joe Paterno has lost his battle against lung cancer. Paterno, who was 85 when he died Sunday, was the winningest coach in major college football history.
Paterno logged 409 victories while coaching the Nittany Lions for 46 years and won 2 national titles. But he was fired by trustees in November in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child-sex abuse case and amid scrutiny that he didn't do enough to stop the alleged abuse.
