OSHTEMO TWP (WKZO) -- One of Southwest Michigan’s largest agriculture events was held at Kalamazoo Valley Community College Friday in Oshtemo Township.
Agriculture educators and specialists from around Michigan were there to provide booths and informational seminars throughout the day during three separate sessions. Topics ranged from matters of pesticide exams on fruits and vegetables to livestock such as how to market small flock poultry.
One crop on many Southwest Michigan growers’ minds is the annual production of blueberries. MSU extension small fruit educator Mark Longstroth held a seminar on blueberry planting as well as how to handle disease infection conditions.
WKZO’s Farm Director Rick Shields spoke with Longstroth at Ag Action Day, watch above for footage.
