BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO) - Organizers for this year’s Field of Flight Air Show and Balloon Festival say that the heat kept crowds down this year. There were big crowds on Saturday but fewer people came thru the gates on Sunday.  It may take a while to find out how they did financially.

It was a spectacular air show with a little bit of everything, from Graceful gliders to Russian Migs, school buses propelled by a jet engine to the headliners, the Air Force Thunderbirds.

One of them this year is a woman, but she says she had to earn her Thunderbird wings the same way the guys did.  Maj. Caroline Jensen says it’s something she has wanted to do since she was a little girl.
