Lansing (WTVB) Governor Rick Snyder has signed legislation designed to improve student safety. A new law will require motorist to come to a complete stop at least 20-feet from a school bus when a bus is stopped and using its two red flashing signals. The driver may proceed once the bus begins to move again. In signing the bill, Governor Snyder said the safety of students always comes first and that the legislation should eliminate any confusion as to when it is and is not okay to pass a parked school bus.
