BATTLE CREEK (WNWN) As the heat has risen over the past few days, the Red Cross will  be opening more cooling centers in more cities today. While the cooling centers haven’t been heavily utilized, they do provide an essential service for those who do use them. Red Cross Spokesman Keith Morelock says in addition to the cooling centers at the Chapter in Oshtemo,  the Douglas Community Center, and Lakeview Square Mall, The Full Blast Water Park will become their second spot in Battle Creek. They will also be opening cooling centers in Kent, Montcalm and Manistee Counties.
