Wings defenseman Kyle Quincey has filed for salary arbitration. The move will require Quincey and the Wings to each submit a salary figure, and an arbitrator will decide on an amount during hearings between July 20th and August 4th. Last season, Quincey had a career high seven goals and 89 penalty minutes in his time with Colorado and Detroit. Even with the filing, Quincey and the Red Wings could still agree on a deal before their hearing. And the Red Wings have named Tom Renney as their new associate coach. Renney, who has been a coach in the NHL for 11 seasons, spent the last two years as the head coach of the Edmonton Oilers. He takes the place of former assistant Jeff Blashill who is now the head coach of Detroit's AHL affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins.
