The Pistons signed their first-round draft pick, center Andre Drummond, to a multi-year contract Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Detroit selected the 18-year old Drummond with the ninth overall selection after he averaged 10 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.7 blocks last season as a freshman for the University of Connecticut. Drummond had 3 points and 3 rebounds yesterday in the Piston’s 79-to-74 victory over the Magic in Orlando Summer League action. Detroit’s Austin Daye scored a game-high 24 points as they improved to 2-and-0 in the league that will see the Pistons play five games in five days.
