LaGRANGE COUNTY, INDIANA (WTVB) The LaGrange County, Indiana Sheriff’s Department says a Branch County man was nabbed in his birthday suit along with a partially clothed woman following an incident that had their car end up in the Pigeon River. The suspect, who also happens to be a Christmas baby, born 25 years ago on December 25th, was identified as Ian Baker. He told jail officers he lives at 268 Washington Street in Bronson. Deputies responded to the scene just west of the LaGrange/SteubenCounty line where there’s a public access site for the river. Sgt. Darren Denney said Baker and his female friend, who was driving the 2006 Chrysler Sebring, had designs to go swimming in the river. However, according to Denney, after the woman stopped and exited the car, she failed to put the transmission in park and the car rolled into the water and was completely submerged. Denny said it was obvious Baker had been drinking and was given a breathalyzer test. The woman was not arrested. Baker was booked on a charge of public nudity.
The LaGrange County Dive Team assisted the wrecker service in the recovery of car.
