MATTESON TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) - A hay baler was destroyed by fire Friday afternoon in Matteson Township. According to the Bronson Fire Department, a spark from a hot bearing in the baler owned by Mike Kupinski started the fire, and due to the dry, windy conditions, it spread rapidly to adjacent fields on both sides of Harkey Road before it could be contained.  There were no injuries, but the baler, valued at $18,000, was declared a total loss.
